1. ABOUT SCHOOL:

1.1 What is “Edo Cultural Center”?

Edo Cultural Center was founded in 1984. Since then, more than 10,000 students from over 70 countries have completed our courses and contributed to the international atmosphere of Japanese language school. The world is changing rapidly; communication ability between people becomes a very important measure. Edo Cultural Center is not only teaching Japanese language but also providing a place for meaningful cultural exchange to our students.

1.2 Meaning of the name “Edo Cultural Center”:

Japan’s current social infrastructure started to take shape during Edo era when “Genroku”, a magnificent and dazzling aspect of Japan’s culture was at its zenith. Today Japanese people are often described the current cultures, traditional customs, arts and fundamental social characteristics began to take root during Edo era. We therefore named the school “Edo Cultural Center” with the hope that many would acquire a deeper understanding between “language” and “culture” of Japanese people, who are generally regarded as being mysterious and often incomprehensible in the eyes of non-Japanese.

2. Greeting from the Principal:

Founded in 1984, Edo Cultural Center was approved as a Japanese language school by the government. Since established, the school was known as a pioneer in teaching Japanese language and adopting modern teaching methods. In 2011, we became one of the members of the“ICHISHIN group※ “which is an association on taking action in reinforcing the preparation of entrance examinations, various teaching materials, curriculum and teaching methods base on the students’ needs. The school experienced full-time staff on behalf of the “Mendomi System” are willing to solve students’ worries and problems in learning. We hope students who graduated from our school can use as a communication bridge to have a brightly future in this global society between their home country and Japan.

※“ICHISHIN group” offers a combined learning system. “ICHISHIN Gakuin” provides guidance of entrance examinations for junior high school students, “ICHISHIN Yobiko” is a preparation school for current high school students, cramming school “Kotaro Jyuku” and “ICHISHIN Wing Net” provides video-delivery classes via the Internet. “ICHISHIN group” is being a representative education group in Japan with sales volume reach 190 million JPY and 47000 students enrolled.

3.1 Preparatory course (for students who aim to enter a university, graduate school or a vocational school in 2 years maximum):

There is an opportunity for entering the school quarterly; January, April, July and October separately.

Supplementary lessons for “Japanese Language Proficiency Test(JLPT)” and “Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students(EJU)”

Supplement lessons were established based on the examinations schedule.

Online lessons for the comprehensive core subjects of the “Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students(EJU)”. Mathematics, physics, chemistry and Social Studies etc.

We always put student’s wishes and goals as our first priority to consider and give detailed advice to lead students to determine their best way.

Approximately 95% of our students go on to universities, graduate schools and vocational schools. We offers special recommendation for those who have excellent academic results.

3.2 General course (for those who are not willing to enter a higher education level but need to master Japanese language in following purposes):

Learning Japanese in order to find a job position in their home country.
Aim to hunting a job in Japan after graduation.
Purely just interesting in Japanese language and culture.

* Admissions will be accepted on January, April, July and October quarterly. In order to help students passing the “Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)”, classes will be held similar with the Japanese Course for Academic Advancement.

Benefited from the location of the school, students are able to go round the famous sightseeing spot such as Asakusa and Tokyo Disney Resort after class.

This course offers the countermeasures of the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test which many companies are using it to estimate employment and preferment.

Strategy course for Japanese Language Proficiency Test:

This course received the most numerous of applicants. Students will be taught by how to improve their Japanese language proficiency.
Japanese language learning course for different fields:

This is a course for those who want to learn Japanese language in a specific field intensively. (For example, economic and financial, honorific language, etc)

Survival Japanese language course:

This is a course for those who came to Japan soon afterward. Daily life Japanese will be taught in order to help you in doing shopping or using public transportation by yourself.
Daily conversation course for different levels:
This is a course for those who want to communicate with Japanese native speaker smoothly.

  • Learning in a effective way:

Besides the above courses, Edo Cultural Center also prepares private lesson in order to fit learners’ different aims and needs.

  • Textbooks:

We always recommend the most suitable textbooks to our students. Beside use of textbooks, materials of our daily life will also be used during the lesson. Newspapers or documents which reference to work will also be prepared as per request.

  • Whenever System:

Time, day of the week, how many times will the lesson be taken are all depends on learners. Also, an alteration of lecturer is possible.

  • Wherever System:

Edo Cultural Center located in Akasaka where it has excellent transport facilities. Besides, we won’t bother of those who are busy and unavailable to come by our school. Lecturers are able to visit the office or in their own house as per request of learners.

  • Free Trial and Counseling:

According to the wish of learners, simple level check test and counseling will occur before the actual lessons. A one-time trial lesson is free (Duration period 60 minutes).
